The morning holds so much to offer. A morning person always seems to have everything done before you’ve managed to roll out of bed! I’m sure you’ve wondered how they do it, or maybe you put it down to genetics and gave into your life as a night owl. Well, I’m here to tell you being a morning person is easier than you think.
I put a lot of time in to narrow down the 5 tips essential for becoming a morning person. These are all nice and easy but will be the catalyst to see real change in your morning habits. And lucky for you I’ve put them into a handy infographic below!

Dehydration is the main cause of fatigue in modern society. Without being properly topped up on water you find that you just can’t function at full capacity. You can’t focus, you become irritated and you become sleepy. So it stands to reason that if you’re dehydrated you certainly won’t be able to wake up properly! Luckily your body uses water more slowly while you’re sleeping so a glass of water before bed and you’ll be right as rain come morning waking up easier than ever before,
You haven’t eaten anything in over 8 hours so your body is definitely going to need to be topped up if you expect it to work at full capacity from the word go! You need to be eating your breakfast as soon as you’re out of bed to get the fuel you need to get started. That way your body will learn that it’s getting more energy as soon as you wake up and so you’ll wake up even easier.
- Get A Proper Alarm Clock
Your phone is a distraction that shouldn’t be anywhere near you while you’re sleeping, a proper alarm clock eliminates this problem. It’s far too tempting to sit on facebook before bed and if you wake up early and check the time but see a little Email notification it’s hard to resist having a look and seeing what it is. So keep your phone on the other side of the room and get an alarm clock to ensure you’re getting a sound sleep.
- Get 7-8 Hours of Sleep a Night
Now everyone is different, we all need different lengths of sleep but what’s important is to get the same amount every night. This helps your body create a habit and learn that it only need a specific amount of sleep so the temptation to go back to bed is lessened and you wake up feeling more refreshed.
- Bedtime Routine
Finally, you need to put a proper bedtime routine in place. Nothing winds you down better than a good fiction book in bed. Combine that with maybe a nice Skin Care routine and you’ll be onto a winner. Just make sure there are no screens, you don’t want to mess up your hormone balance right when you’re trying to fall asleep.
